Yashira Jordán directed Durazno, a special film made in Bolivia and Argentina. This movie was unique because it used a concept called "crowdfunding." This means many people helped fund the film, often by donating small amounts of money. The film also used recycled materials and even garbage to create its sets and scenes.

Early Training and Studies

In 2004, Yashira traveled to different cities like New York City, Washington, D.C., and Mexico City. There, she took part in many workshops and courses. She learned from experienced filmmakers from America and Mexico. During this time, she also made some experimental videos and short films. These short films were shown at international festivals, including the Washington, D.C., 48 Hour Film Festival.

In 2005, she started studying audiovisual communication at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata in Argentina. This helped her learn more about making films.

Joining Film Festivals and Programs

Yashira was chosen for a special program called Talent Campus in 2007. This program was organized by the Universidad del Cine. It allowed her to show her work at the 9th BAFICI (Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival).

In February 2008, her work was selected for the Berlin International Film Festival. This is a very important film festival worldwide. She was chosen for the Talent Campus category, which is for promising new filmmakers. At the Berlinale Talent Campus, she attended talks and workshops. She met famous filmmakers like Mike Leigh, Wim Wenders, and Alejandro Jodorowsky. This was a great chance for her to learn from the best in the film industry.
