Yellow Belly Lake is a beautiful mountain lake in Custer County, Idaho, United States. It's found in the Sawtooth Valley, which is part of the amazing Sawtooth National Recreation Area. This lake is known as an alpine lake because it's located high up in the mountains. It's also a glacial lake, meaning it was formed long ago by huge sheets of ice called glaciers.
Yellow Belly Lake is about 15 miles (24 km) south of a town called Stanley. It's also about 34 miles (55 km) northwest of Ketchum.

How to Get There
You can reach Yellow Belly Lake from State Highway 75. You'll need to take Sawtooth National Forest road 205, and then road 096. Road 096 is a bit rough, so it's best for vehicles that sit higher off the ground. This road leads right to a hiking trail and a campground by the lake.
