Yi Seou (born March 1, 1633, died October 14, 1709) was an important person in Korean history. He was a scholar and a government official during the Joseon period. He was also one of the first writers of a new way of thinking called Silhak. Yi Seou belonged to a political group known as the Southerners.

Who Was Yi Seou?
Yi Seou was born in Korea on March 1, 1633. He lived during the Joseon Dynasty, which was a long period of Korean history. He was known as a scholar-official. This means he was a very smart person who studied a lot and also worked in the government.
