Early Life and Education
Yoshiko Sembon was born in Manchuria, a region in China, on November 6, 1928. When she was nine years old, her family moved back to Japan. They settled in a place called Tateyama, Chiba.
After World War II ended, her family moved again, this time to Tokyo. Yoshiko Sembon went to Waseda University. She studied acting there, learning all about performing.
Starting a Career in TV and Film
After finishing college in 1953, Yoshiko Sembon started working at a new TV station. This station was called Nippon Television. Since then, she has created many television shows. She has written the scripts and also directed them.
In 2006, Yoshiko Sembon made her first full-length movie. It was called Red Whale, White Snake. This film was released on November 25, 2006. The movie tells a story about her own childhood days in Chiba Prefecture.
