Yoshiteru Yamashita (山下 芳輝, Yamashita Yoshiteru, born November 21, 1977) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward. Yoshiteru also represented the Japan national team in international matches.

Yoshiteru Yamashita's Club Journey
Yoshiteru Yamashita was born in Fukuoka, Japan, on November 21, 1977. After finishing high school in 1996, he joined a professional football club called Avispa Fukuoka. This club played in the top Japanese league, the J1 League.
Starting His Professional Career
Yoshiteru made his first professional appearance on March 16, 1996. He scored his very first goal on April 27, 1996. It was against a team called Kyoto Purple Sanga. He played in many games during his first season. He stayed with Avispa Fukuoka until 2001.
Moving to New Teams
In 2002, Yoshiteru moved to Vegalta Sendai. He played there for two years. After that, in 2004, he joined Kashiwa Reysol. During 2005, he also played for Omiya Ardija for a short time on loan. This means he was temporarily playing for them.
Later Years and Retirement
In 2007, Yoshiteru moved to Tochigi SC, a club in the Japan Football League. The next year, in 2008, he joined FC Ryukyu. He played for FC Ryukyu until the end of the 2010 season. After that, Yoshiteru Yamashita decided to retire from playing professional football.

Youth National Team
In June 1997, Yoshiteru was chosen to play for the Japan U-20 national team. They competed in the 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship. He played in two matches during this important tournament.
Senior National Team Debut
In 2001, Yoshiteru was selected for the main Japan national team. He joined them for the 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup. This was a big international tournament. He made his first appearance for the senior national team on June 4, 2001. This match was against Brazil at Kashima Soccer Stadium. Japan did very well in this tournament, finishing in second place! Yoshiteru played a total of three matches for the Japan national team between 2001 and 2003.
