Glenn Clifton Jr., known as Young Bleed, is an American rapper from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He started making music when he was young and became famous for his unique style of southern hip hop.

About Young Bleed

Young Bleed began rapping when he was just nine years old in his hometown of South Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His mother, who read poetry to him, and the music group Run-DMC greatly inspired him. As a teenager, Young Bleed started recording his own songs. He sold these hip-hop tapes to friends in his neighborhood. Eventually, a local record label signed him.

In 1995, he joined four other artists from Baton Rouge to form a group called Concentration Camp. He is still part of this group today.

Young Bleed's Music Career

Young Bleed first became known across the country when his song "How You Do That" was remixed by Master P of No Limit Records. This song was part of the soundtrack for Master P's 1997 movie I'm Bout It. The soundtrack became very popular, reaching number one on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop album charts.

With help from Master P, Young Bleed signed a deal with Priority Records. He released his first major album, My ... & My Word, in 1998. This album was a huge success! It reached number ten on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Top R&B/Hip Hop album charts. It also sold enough copies to be certified gold and later platinum in the U.S. This means it sold over one million copies.

His next album, My Own, came out in 2000. While it also appeared on the Billboard charts, it did not become as big as his first album.

Later, Young Bleed left Priority Records and started releasing music independently. He joined C-Bo's West Coast Mafia Records. With this label, he released albums like Rise Thru da Ranks from Earner Tugh Capo in 2005 and Once Upon a Time in Amedica in 2007.

In 2008, Young Bleed released Off Tha Curb, which was a collaboration album with another rapper named Freize.

He later signed with Strange Lane Records in 2011 and released the album Preserved. In 2012, he left Strange Music and continued to work on new music. His album Livin' was released in 2017. In 2018, he announced another album called Wut' Uh' Life, which was released in 2019. His most recent album, Signs N' Wonders, came out in 2020.
