Youssoupha Mabiki (born August 29, 1979), known as Youssoupha, is a famous French rapper. He has roots in the Congo. He is well-known for his thoughtful and meaningful rap music.

Early Life and Music Journey

Youssoupha was born in Kinshasa, Congo. His father was Tabu Ley Rochereau, a musician and political figure from Congo. His mother was from Senegal. Youssoupha spent his early childhood in Congo.

When he was 10, he moved to France. He lived with relatives in different towns like Beziers and Sartrouville. He studied hard and earned a master's degree. After finishing his studies, he decided to focus completely on music.

First Steps in Music

Youssoupha started his music journey with friends. His first album, Frères Lumières, was a project with two friends. They released a special single. He also worked on other music projects. One of these was the album Tendance with the band Bana Kin.

In late 2005, he released his own street DVD called Eternel Recommencement. He then signed with Hostile record label. In March 2007, he released his first official studio album. It was called À chaque frère (meaning "To Every Brother"). This album featured other well-known rappers like Diam's and Kool Shen.

Growing Success

His second album, Sur les chemins du retour ("On the Ways of Return"), came out in October 2009. He also went on an international tour. To get ready for his third album, he released a special digital tape. It was called En noir et blanc - En attendant Noir Désir.

In January 2012, his third studio album, Noir désir ("Black Desire"), was released. This album included songs with artists like Corneille and Indila. His own father, Tabu Ley Rochereau, also featured on a song.

Helping Others Through Music

On April 22, 2025, Youssoupha helped organize a special concert. It was called Solidarité Congo and took place at the Accor Arena. He led the event with other famous artists like Fally Ipupa and Gims.

Many artists from the French rap scene joined in. International and Congolese artists also took part. The concert aimed to raise money for children. These children were affected by the conflict in eastern DRC. All the money raised went to Dadju's Give Back Charity. The event was first planned for April 7. It was moved to April 22 to respect the International Day of Remembrance of the 1994 Rwandan genocide.
