José Carlos Garcia Leal, known simply as Zé Carlos, was born on 15 July 1980 in Manga, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He is a Brazilian football coach and a former player. Zé Carlos played as a left back or a midfielder. Currently, he works as an assistant manager for Confiança.

Zé Carlos's Playing Career
Zé Carlos started his football journey in the youth team of Goiás in 1999. He then moved up to play for the senior team.
Playing for Brazilian Clubs
Zé Carlos played for several important clubs in Brazil. From 2000 to 2002, he was with Goiás. He then joined São Caetano in 2003. In 2004, he played for Corinthians, one of Brazil's biggest teams.
After playing in Japan, he returned to Brazil. He played for Botafogo in 2008 and then went back to Goiás in 2009. He also played for Náutico in 2010. Later in his career, he played for teams like Caxias, Grêmio Barueri, Aparecidense, Sobradinho, Icasa, and Ituano.
Playing in Japan
Zé Carlos also played football in Japan. From 2005 to 2007, he was a player for Cerezo Osaka. He played in both the J1 League and J2 League, which are top football leagues in Japan. He played many games and scored goals for the team during his time there.
Zé Carlos's Coaching Career
After his playing days, Zé Carlos became a football coach. He started as an assistant coach for Ríver in 2016. He also managed Aparecidense in the same year.
In 2017, he worked with the youth teams at Goiás. He was an assistant for the Under-20 team and coached the Under-17 team. Since 2020, he has been an assistant manager for Confiança. He also served as an interim (temporary) manager for Confiança in 2021.
