Zacharias Chaliabalias (born March 8, 1946 – died July 22, 2020) was a talented Greek football player. He was known as a strong "centre-back," which is a defensive position in football. Zacharias played his entire career for a team called Iraklis. He also represented his home country, Greece, in international matches.

Zacharias Chaliabalias was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. He began his football journey with Iraklis in 1964. He played for this club for many years, until 1975. Zacharias was a very dedicated player for Iraklis. He played in 280 league games for the club. This makes him the fifth player with the most appearances for Iraklis ever!

Representing His Country

Zacharias Chaliabalias also played for the Greek national team. His first game for Greece was on November 21, 1968. It was a friendly match against Egypt, which Greece won 4-1 at home. In total, he played three games for his country.
