Zaira Nara was born in Boulogne Sur Mer, a city in Argentina. Her parents are Andrés Nara and Nora Colosimo. She has an older sister named Wanda Nara, who is also a well-known personality. Their family has roots from Lebanon.

Zaira got engaged to horseback rider Jakob von Plessen in April 2015. They announced their first pregnancy in October 2015. Their daughter, Malaika "Mali" von Plessen Nara, was born on April 1, 2016. Zaira announced her second pregnancy on her TV show Morfi, todos a la mesa on August 15, 2019. Her son, Viggo Silvestre Barón von Plessen Nara, was born on February 6, 2020.
