Things to Do in Zell am Ziller
Zell am Ziller is known for its fun activities, especially skiing.
The Zillertal Arena Ski Area
The Zillertal Arena is a very large ski area. It was created in 2000. This happened when the ski areas of Zell, Gerlos, and Königsleiten joined together. It is the biggest ski area in the Ziller valley.
You can get to the Zillertal Arena using two main lifts. These are the Rosenalmbahn and the Karspitzbahn. The Karspitzbahn started working in the 2010/2011 winter season. Its starting point is right in Zell am Ziller.
During the winter, many ski buses help people get around. They take skiers to and from the slopes. If there is enough snow, you can also go cross-country skiing. There are special trails along the Ziller river for this. You can do both classic and skating styles of cross-country skiing.
