Zhu Zhengting (Chinese: 朱正廷, born on March 18, 1996) is a talented Chinese singer and actor. He became famous in 2018 as a member of the boy band Nine Percent. This happened after he appeared on the Chinese TV show Idol Producer. Today, he is the leader and main dancer of a group called NEXT, which is part of Yuehua.

Early Life and Dance Training

Zhu Zhengting started dancing at a very young age. When he was 8, he began learning traditional Chinese dance. By the time he was 12, he was studying ballet. At 15, he focused on modern and contemporary dance styles.

In 2014, Zhu got into the Shanghai Theatre Academy. He was the top student in Chinese dance that year. Before becoming a star, he trained hard at Yuehua Entertainment.

Music and Acting Career

Starting with Reality Shows

Zhu Zhengting first appeared on a TV show called "Produce 101" in 2017. This was a competition show in Korea where people competed to join a boy group. He was eliminated in episode 8.

After "Produce 101", Zhu joined a similar Chinese show called Idol Producer in 2018. This show helped him become very popular. He received over 11 million votes in the final episode. He finished in sixth place and became a member of the group "Nine Percent".

Debuting with NEXT and Solo Music

On June 21, 2018, Zhu Zhengting became the leader of a C-Pop group named "NEXT". Their first song was "Wait a Minute". Just two days later, Zhu and the other members of NEXT met their fans for the first time in Beijing, China.

Zhu also started releasing his own music. On December 2, 2018, he released his first solo song, "The Winter Light". This song was incredibly popular, selling over one million copies online in just three minutes! He then released another song called "Green Christmas".

In 2019, Zhu released a new song called "待签收" (which means "Waiting to be Signed") on his birthday, March 18. Later that year, he released his first mini-album, Chapter Z. It included songs like "Flip", "都要好好的", and "旁观者". This album sold 10 million copies in just six days, becoming a top seller. The music video for "Flip" came out on October 10, 2019.

In 2020, he released a new song called "Empty Space". It featured Wang Ziyi, who was also in his former group, Nine Percent. On his birthday in 2021, March 18, he released another song called "陷" (Trap). It sold 100,000 copies in less than half an hour.

Acting Roles and Special Titles

Zhu Zhengting has also taken on acting roles. His first TV drama, "Floating Youth", was released on January 30, 2022. This show was about a university hockey team and was made for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. He also appeared in other dramas like "Shining Just for You" and "The Silence of the Monster" in 2022. In 2023, he starred in "To Ship Someone".

Besides his entertainment career, Zhu Zhengting has received special titles. He was named an ambassador for Shanghai Public and Safety Officers. On May 22, 2021, he was appointed as a "Protector of Endangered Species" by the Society of Entrepreneurs & Ecology (SEE). In 2022, Tencent named him the "Fashion Star Officer" for Paris Fashion Week.

Zhu Zhengting has worked with many well-known brands. In 2018, he endorsed products like Head & Shoulders and Oral-B. He also worked with clothing brand Calvin Klein, technology company Huawei, and beauty brands Olay and Perfect Diary.
