Zilwaukee is a small city in Michigan, a state in the United States. It's located in Saginaw County. In 2020, about 1,534 people lived there. Zilwaukee was formed from the nearby Zilwaukee Township. It is also famous for the Zilwaukee Bridge.

The Story of Zilwaukee

Zilwaukee started in 1848. Two brothers, Daniel and Solomon Johnson, came from New York City. They built a saw mill here, which helped the town grow.

No one is completely sure how Zilwaukee got its name. Some local stories say it was named to trick people. Immigrants who wanted to go to the bigger city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin might have ended up in Zilwaukee instead!
