Mirković started his professional football journey with FK Rad during the 1990–91 season. Before that, he and his teammates won a big youth title, which was a huge success for Rad. He played for Rad for three seasons, appearing in 62 matches and scoring one goal. His talent quickly caught the eye of Partizan, another big club.

Mirković joined Partizan and quickly became a key player. In his first three years there, he helped the team win three important titles. He was a favorite among Partizan fans because of his fighting spirit, especially in big matches against Red Star Belgrade. He played 82 matches for Partizan during this time, scoring one goal.

After Partizan, Mirković moved to Italy to play for Atalanta. He played as a midfielder and defender, and his strong performances led to him being invited to join Juventus, one of the biggest clubs in Italy. He was very popular with Atalanta fans.

At Juventus, Mirković played in the top Italian league, Serie A, and also in the UEFA Champions League. Later, he moved to Turkey and signed with Fenerbahçe. In his first season in Istanbul, he helped Fenerbahçe win the Turkish League title. He also played in the Champions League during his time there.

In 2004, Mirković returned to Partizan for a second time. He played for two and a half more years before deciding to retire from football on March 6, 2006. He was 34 years old and retired due to a back injury.

Playing for His Country

He took part in the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France. However, he missed the Euro 2000 tournament because of an incident in a qualifying match against Croatia, which resulted in a three-match ban. His last international game was in June 2003 against Azerbaijan.

Life After Playing Football

Working as a Manager

After retiring as a player, Mirković started a career in football management. He began as an assistant coach for Sinđelić Belgrade in 2015. He then became the head coach of the same team later that year.
