Zorica Brunclik (Serbian Cyrillic: Зорица Брунцлик) was born on June 29, 1955. She is a famous singer from Serbia. Many people know her for her bright hot pink hair. She is one of the most successful folk singers in Serbia's history.
Early Life
Zorica Brunclik was born in Belgrade, which was part of Yugoslavia at the time. Her mother was Serbian, and her father had Czech and Greek roots. Her parents separated when she was young. Zorica grew up in different towns like Smederevo and Požarevac.
She has three brothers, and her mother mostly raised them. Zorica has shared that her mother worked hard and faced financial challenges to support the family. Zorica later went to college and graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Niš.
Career Highlights
Zorica started singing in 1969 after meeting folk singer Bora Spužić Kvaka. For several years, she performed as a singer. In 1974, she released her first song, "Ne daj da nas rastave." This was with the help of songwriter Novica Urošević and the record label PGP-RTB.
Two years later, Zorica released her first full music album. Over her long career, she has released 27 albums! She has sold about 15 million records, making her one of the most successful Serbian folk singers ever. Some of her popular songs include "A tebe nema" (1982), "Avlije, avlije" (1991), and "Kada bi me pitali" (1995). She has also won many awards for her music. In May 2021, she received the National Music Artist of Serbia award.
Zorica celebrated 40 years of her career with a big concert in Belgrade Arena on November 11, 2014. The concert was called Sve je ljubav, which means Everything is Love. Many other famous musicians joined her on stage. On June 28, 2022, she held another concert at the Tašmajdan Center. This show celebrated almost 50 years of her work. Parts of this concert were later shown on TV.
Besides singing, Zorica has also appeared in movies. She was in Kakav deda takav unuk (1983) and Špijun na štiklama (1988). She also took part in the reality TV show Farma in 2010, where she finished in 6th place. Later, she was a judge on popular singing shows like Zvezde Granda (2013-2015) and Pinkove Zvezde (2016-2017).
Personal Life
Zorica Brunclik has been married four times. Since 1985, she has been married to Miroljub Aranđelović Kemiš, who is a famous Serbian accordion player and music director. Zorica has three daughters and one son.
She has also been involved in politics. She was a friend of Mirjana Marković, who was a politician and the wife of Slobodan Milošević. Zorica has also publicly supported Aleksandar Vučić, another political figure.
