Zurich is a small place in Blaine County, Montana, in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Zurich is located at 48°35′4″N 109°1′50″W / 48.58444°N 109.03056°W.
You can find Zurich along the Hi-Line of Montana. This is a famous route that follows U.S. Route 2. Zurich is located between the towns of Harlem and Chinook. It has its own post office, with the ZIP code 59547. There is also a public school for students from kindergarten through 8th grade.
Zurich has a bar, but the old store and bank are now closed. Two large grain elevators and other business buildings are also no longer in use. The Milk River flows just south of the community.

History of Zurich
How Zurich Got Its Name
Around 1887, officials from the Great Northern Railway were building their main train line. They decided to name one of their train stops "Zurich." They named it after the famous city in Switzerland.
Early Days and Growth
A post office was opened in Zurich in 1907. Later, in 1913, the area was officially planned out as a townsite. In 1923, more people moved to Zurich. These new residents were Volga Germans, who came looking for jobs. Many of them found work farming sugar beets in the area.

Getting Around Zurich
Train Travel
The Amtrak train called the Empire Builder goes through Zurich. This train travels between Seattle/Portland and Chicago. It uses the BNSF train tracks that pass through Zurich. However, the train does not stop in Zurich. The closest train station is in Havre, which is about 31 miles (50 km) to the west.
