Éric de Cromières (born November 20, 1953 – died July 23, 2020) was a French business leader. He was known for his work as a manager at the company Michelin. He also led a famous rugby club.

Early Life and Education
Éric de Cromières was born in Algiers, which was part of French Algeria at the time. His father was a captain in the French Army. When Éric was 11 years old, his family moved to France.
He found his love for rugby while living in Dax. He played rugby for his university team, HEC Paris, until he was 24. After finishing his studies, he joined the French Navy as an officer in Toulon.
Career at Michelin
After his time in the military, Éric de Cromières started working for Michelin, a big tire company. He began as a sales representative in Roanne. Over the years, he took on more important roles.
He became a sales manager and then a general manager. He even joined the company's executive committee in 2005. He worked for Michelin for a long time, retiring on March 31, 2015.
Leading a Rugby Club
In 2006, Éric de Cromières joined the board of directors for ASM Clermont Auvergne. This is a well-known rugby union club. In 2012, the club's director, René Fontès, chose him to take over.
De Cromières officially became the club's director in 2013. Under his leadership, ASM Clermont Auvergne became champions of the Top 14 league in 2017. This was a big achievement for the team.
Helping Rugby Organizations
In 2017, there was a disagreement between the National Rugby League and the French Rugby Federation. These are two important groups in French rugby. Éric de Cromières was asked to join a special group to help solve the problem.
This group was called the Commission for Reconciliation and Dialogue. Its goal was to find a way for the two groups to work together. They successfully reached an agreement in June 2017. This agreement helped decide when players could play for their clubs and when they could play for their country.
De Cromières also became part of a committee to keep good relations between the groups. This committee was set up to work from 2018 to 2023.
Later Life
Éric de Cromières passed away on July 23, 2020, at the age of 66. He died from cancer.
