Ángela García de Paredes was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1958. Her father, José María García de Paredes, was also a well-known architect. Her mother, María Isabel de Falla, came from a family of artists and architects. Her great-uncle was the famous composer Manuel de Falla.

Ángela studied architecture at the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM). She earned her first degree in 1983. Later, in 2015, she completed her PhD in Architecture. Her PhD research was about her father's architectural ideas and work.

In 1990, Ángela and Ignacio García Pedrosa started their own architecture studio. They design buildings and also teach at universities. They have taught at places like the University of Granada, University of Barcelona, and University of Navarra. They also lead classes at their old school, ETSAM. They have shared their ideas with students all over the world.

After her father passed away in 1990, Ángela took charge of his architecture studio. Since 2011, she has been a judge for the Ascensores Enor Architecture Awards. This means she helps choose the best new building designs.

In 2007, she and Ignacio García Pedrosa won the Spanish Architecture Award. They received it for their design of the Teatro Valle-Inclán in Madrid. The judges praised how the theater fit into the neighborhood. They also liked how the building connected with its surroundings. The judges said the theater was a "singular piece" and a "reference in Spanish architecture."

For the integration of the project in the regeneration process of the neighborhood and the interactive capacity of the architecture to articulate its external dimensions with the surroundings. In 2013, they won the Eduardo Torroja Award for Engineering and Architecture. This award was for their work on the Villa Romana de la Olmeda. The judges admired their bold design and how they used engineering ideas to make the building look strong and clear.

In 2014, Ángela received the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts. This is a very high honor in Spain for artists and designers. She also won the Luis Moreno Mansilla Award for her work on the Public Library of Ceuta.
