Ángela García de Paredes was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1958. She comes from a family of architects. Her father, José María García de Paredes, was also a famous architect. Her mother, María Isabel de Falla, was the daughter of architect Germán de Falla. She was also the niece of the well-known composer Manuel de Falla.

Her Education and Career Start

Ángela studied architecture at the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM). She earned her first degree in architecture in 1983. Later, in 2015, she completed her PhD in Architecture at the Technical University of Madrid. Her PhD work focused on her father's architectural ideas.

In 1990, Ángela started her own architecture studio, Paredes Pedrosa, with Ignacio García Pedrosa. They have worked on many exciting projects together.

Teaching and Sharing Knowledge

Besides designing buildings, Ángela also teaches architecture. She is a professor at ETSAM. She has also been a guest lecturer at many universities around the world. These include places like the Harvard Graduate School of Design and the ETH Zurich. This means she shares her knowledge with students and other architects globally.

When her father passed away in 1990, Ángela took over his architecture studio. She has also served as a judge for the Ascensores Enor Architecture Awards since 2011.
