Ángeles González-Sinde Reig (born on April 7, 1965) is a talented Spanish scriptwriter, film director, and politician. She served as the Minister of Culture for the Spanish government from April 2009 to December 2011. During her time as Minister, she was known for her views on online file sharing. A law passed in December 2011, which aimed to protect creative works online, became known as the "Sinde Law" because she was a strong supporter of it.

About Ángeles González-Sinde
Ángeles González-Sinde Reig was born in Madrid, Spain. Her father, José María González-Sinde, Sr., founded an important film academy. Her brother, José María González-Sinde, Jr., also works in the film industry.
Her Education and Early Career
González-Sinde studied Classics at the Complutense University of Madrid. She then went on to earn a master's degree in Cinema Scriptwriting at the AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles, USA. This helped her become a skilled writer for movies.
Leading the Film Academy
Before becoming a politician, Ángeles González-Sinde was the president of the Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España (AACCE). This is the Spanish Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences. She held this important role from December 2006 until April 2009.
Her Role as Culture Minister
In April 2009, Ángeles González-Sinde was chosen to be the Minister of Culture. This meant she was in charge of supporting arts, films, and cultural activities in Spain.
Public Reaction to Her Appointment
When she became Minister, some people, especially those in the Spanish Internet community, were concerned. They felt that because she had strong connections to the film industry, it might be hard for her to be completely fair on certain issues, like online sharing of movies.

In June 2020, Ángeles González-Sinde was appointed president of the Royal Board of Trustees of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía. This is a very important art museum in Spain. This position is unpaid, meaning she volunteered her time for this role.
