Coaching Norway

In late 2003, Hareide became the coach of the Norway national football team. He took over after coaching Rosenborg BK for one season. He aimed to lead Norway to major international tournaments. However, after failing to qualify for any big events and a tough start to the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, he decided to step down in December 2008.
