10 Universal City Plaza (also known as 10 UCP) is a very tall building in Universal City, California. It's close to Los Angeles. This skyscraper has 35 floors and stands about 154 meters (506 feet) high. It was finished in 1984.

The building was designed by a famous architecture firm called Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. It has a unique shape, a bit like a diamond. Inside, there are many offices, covering a huge area of about 76,180 square meters (820,000 square feet). It is the tallest building in the entire San Fernando Valley.

Over the years, the building has been owned by different companies. In 2003, a company called Vivendi Universal sold it. Later, in 2013, Comcast Corporation bought the building. Comcast is the parent company of NBCUniversal.

Who Works Here?

This building has been home to many important companies over the years.

Early Tenants

When it was first built, 10 Universal City Plaza was meant to be the main office for Getty Oil. After Getty Oil was bought by another company, Texaco used the building for a few years.

In 1987, MCA Inc. bought the building. They used it for Universal Pictures, which makes movies.

NBCUniversal's Home

Since NBCUniversal was created in 2004, this building has been a major hub for their entertainment businesses. Many popular TV channels have offices here. These include USA Network, Syfy, E! Entertainment, Bravo, and Oxygen.

Other parts of NBCUniversal also work here. This includes Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, which handles movies for home viewing. Many corporate teams also have their offices in this building.

TV Studios and Animation

The building also has special broadcast studios called The Terrace Studios. These studios have two sound stages. This is where popular entertainment news shows are filmed. Shows like E! News and Access Hollywood started broadcasting from here in 2015. The building also has the offices and newsroom for these shows.

The main studio for Universal Animation Studios is also located here. This is where animated movies and shows are created. Another studio for them is in Glendale, California.
