How Teams Qualified
The Big East baseball tournament in 1999 had six teams. These teams were chosen based on how well they played during the regular season. The top six teams with the best winning percentages got to play.
The tournament used a "double-elimination" format. This means a team had to lose two games to be out of the competition. If a team lost once, they could still win the tournament.
