About the 2001 Hurricane Season
The 2001 Pacific hurricane season was not known for having many very strong or damaging storms. However, some storms did reach impressive strengths.
Strongest Storms
Two hurricanes, named Adolph and Juliette, became quite powerful. They both reached Category 4 strength on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. This means they had very strong winds, but they mostly stayed over the open ocean.
Hurricane Juliette's Impact
Juliette was the only hurricane to make landfall during this season. It hit the Baja California peninsula as a weaker Category 1 hurricane. Even though it was weaker by then, it still caused some problems. Sadly, two people lost their lives because of this storm.
