About the Show
Auditions for 4 O'Clock Club were held in March 2011, and the show was announced soon after. The very first episode aired in January 2012. Since then, new series have been filmed every summer, bringing more adventures to the screen.
What Happens in the Show
The show follows different students and teachers at Elmsbury High, and later Elmsmere Manor, as they deal with school life, friendships, and funny situations.
Series 1 (2012)
The first series is all about Josh Carter, a student who loves to be cool and cause a little trouble. His older brother, Nathan, is a teacher at the same school! Josh often tries to outsmart Nathan, leading to lots of funny moments. Nathan, who used to be a famous rapper, tries his best to keep Josh in line.
Series 2 (2013)
In the second series, Nathan leaves Elmsbury. A new music teacher, Dexter Harris, joins the school and even moves into Josh's house! Josh isn't happy about sharing his room and tries to annoy Dexter. But over time, they become like brothers. This series also introduces Mr. Crispin Bell, a very strict new headmaster who often clashes with Josh and Dexter.
Series 3 (2013–2014)
This series sees Nathan get married and leave the show. Josh now has to share his room with his younger cousin, Nero, who can be quite annoying! The school building burns down, so Elmsbury High merges with another school, Fowlmere Manor. The new school is called Elmsmere Manor. Many new students and teachers join the show because of this merger.
Series 4 (2015)
Nero becomes the main character in this series, with Josh and his friends having moved on. Dexter is now a more experienced teacher, but he's busy trying to manage Nero's pranks, much like Nathan used to do with Josh. A new rebellious girl named Clem Burton joins Nero's group. There's also a mystery about "The Phantom Sprayer" leaving graffiti around the school!
Series 5 (2016)
Most of the characters from Series 4 return, plus some new faces. Lizzie, Dexter's girlfriend, has a younger sister named Amber who starts at the school. Amber and her friends want to fit in with the cool kids like Nero. A new head teacher, Mrs. Helena Goodman, also arrives. Nero and Clem try to figure out their feelings for each other, while Dexter and Lizzie try to keep their relationship a secret.
Series 6 (2017)
Nero and Clem finally start dating after the summer, but they have a lot of arguments and eventually break up. Dexter and Lizzie are expecting a baby and welcome twins named Albert and Faraday! Mr. Bell, the headmaster, is going through a tough time and ends up living in a caravan on school grounds with his son, CJ, who is new to the school. Everyone is surprised because Mr. Bell never mentioned having a son before!
Series 7 (2018)
Elmsmere School moves to a new location because of money problems. Mr. Bell becomes the temporary headteacher. Nero, Dexter, and Lizzie all leave the school to pursue new adventures in America. Three new characters join the show: Science teacher Maddie Harper, her son Jack, and Music teacher Danny Boyd.
Series 8 (2018–2019)
This series starts with a Christmas special focusing on Mr. Bell and his son, CJ. A new older student named Evan, who is also a bit of a rebel, joins the school. Nero even makes a special guest appearance in the 100th episode! Mrs. Goodman, the headteacher, leaves in this series.
Series 9 (2020)
The ninth series brings some big changes. PC Emily Rowe, a police officer who has appeared before, becomes a regular character. Her niece and nephew, Coco and Reiss, come to live with her and start at the school. New students Henry and Magnus also join. A new music teacher, Clinton Russell, replaces Danny and starts dating PC Rowe. Mr. Nunn, the PE teacher, discovers that Henry is his son! This series also sees many long-time characters, including CJ and Mr. Bell, leave the show as they finish school.
