Genesis Lynea Edwards (born October 20, 1989) is a talented actress, dancer, and singer from Bermuda. She is known for her exciting roles on stage and television. You might have seen her in the musical Six as Anna of Cleves. On TV, she played roles in the BBC medical drama Casualty (from 2019 to 2020) and the crime drama Silent Witness (in 2021).

Growing Up in Bermuda and London
Genesis Lynea Edwards was born on October 20, 1989, in Bermuda. Her parents, Lionel Edwards and Ginea Wolf, were both involved in music and acting. Her dad played the saxophone, and her mom was an actress and singer. Her mom even performed in the musical Tina in Hamburg.
In 1997, Genesis and her mom moved to London, England. Her mom was accepted into a performing arts program at Middlesex University. They lived in North London, where Genesis went to primary school. Later, the family moved back to Bermuda for three years. Genesis started studying Geography at King's College London. However, she soon realized she wanted to be a performer. She then transferred to Arts Educational School (ArtsEd) in Chiswick. She graduated in 2013 with a degree in Musical Theatre.
Genesis Lynea's Performing Journey
Early Experiences and Dance
Genesis Lynea's first time performing was with the ENO. She was part of the children's group for the show The Magic Flute. When her family moved back to London in 2006, she and her friends started Britain's first Krump dance group. They called themselves Krumpire, which later became Wet Wipez.
Soon after, she appeared in Jessie J's first music video, "Do It Like A Dude". For the 2012 London Olympics, she was chosen for a special project by Adidas. This project featured skilled teenagers from London on billboards.
Stage Roles and Musicals
Genesis Lynea has performed in many popular musicals. Her early stage work included roles in The Bodyguard, Bend It Like Beckham: The Musical, and In the Heights. She also performed in the Olivier Award-winning show Jesus Christ Superstar. In 2016, she played Pilar in a production of Legally Blonde in Leicester.
In 2017, she starred in The Wild Party. She then landed roles in Ode to Leeds and Collective Rage: A Play in Five Betties. She became famous for playing Anna of Cleves in the first cast of Six at the Arts Theatre. She also recorded on the 2018 SIX Studio album, which has sold over 100,000 copies worldwide.
Television and Film Appearances
Genesis Lynea made her TV debut in 2018. She played Miss Maddie Harper in series 7 and 8 of the CBBC show 4 O'Clock Club. She also got her first main role in a play at The Old Vic in Sylvia.
She has also filmed several short movies. Love is a Hand Grenade won 'Best LGBT' at the Bristol Independent Film Festival. Cost of Living was shown at the Raindance Film Festival in 2021. Her recent short film, Finding Dad, was chosen for the Berlin British Shorts Film Festival.
On March 23, 2019, she started appearing as Archie Hudson in the BBC medical drama Casualty. In 2021, she joined the cast of the long-running BBC crime drama Silent Witness. She played the role of pathologist Simone Tyler. She also made a guest appearance in the Netflix series Shadow and Bone. The next year, she had roles in A Discovery of Witches and the horror comedy The Baby.
