Associazione Calcio Mestre is an Italian football club. It is located in Mestre, a town near Venice, Veneto. The team's colors are orange and black. They are often called l'Arancioneri, which means "The Orange & Blacks". They currently play in Serie D, which is the fourth level of Italian football.

Club History: From Founding to Today

Early Years and First Big Wins

The club started in 1927. Its first name was Unione Sportiva Mestrina. In 1938, they played in Serie C for the first time. They won the Serie C league in 1946. This big win allowed them to play in Serie B during the 1946–47 season. This was a very exciting time for the club!

Changes and New Names

After their time in Serie B, Mestrina mostly played in Serie C and Serie D. In 1980, the club changed its name to Associazione Calcio Mestre. They then regularly played in Serie C1 and Serie C2.

In 1987, a person named Maurizio Zamparini bought the club. He also owned Venezia, another team. He wanted to join the two clubs together. The new team was called Venezia-Mestre Calcio. Their new colors mixed Mestre's orange and black with Venezia's black and green.

Mestre's Comeback

In 1989, the combined club changed its name again to Venezia 1907. This name did not include Mestre anymore. Also, the team moved out of Mestre's home stadium in 1991. Because of this, people in Mestre wanted their original club back. A local club called Malcontenta moved to Mestre. It changed its name to Malcontenta-Mestrina and then to Mestre Calcio.

In 1995, Mestre Calcio returned to Serie D. The next year, they were promoted again! This brought Mestre back to professional football in 1996. However, the club was relegated in 2003 and then faced financial problems.

Rising Through the Ranks Again

The club had to start over from the lowest league, Terza Categoria. They slowly climbed back up, reaching Prima Categoria by 2010. In 2015, two Mestre clubs joined together. They took over the rights of another team, Union Pro, which was playing in Serie D. This allowed Mestre to return to Serie D for the 2015–16 season.

In 2017, Mestre won promotion to Serie C under coach Mauro Zironelli. After the 2017–18 Serie C season, Mestre faced more challenges. They had trouble getting enough money to stay in Serie C. So, they had to play in Eccellenza for the 2018–19 season. But Mestre quickly bounced back! They won the national playoff tournament in 2019 and were promoted straight back to Serie D.
