Geography of Abadiño
Abadiño is found on the N-636 road, a few kilometers southeast of Durango. The town sits in a wide valley. This valley is formed by two rivers, the Ibaizabal and Urkiola.
Farmers use the flat valley floor for raising animals. To the south, the land rises into the Urkiola mountain range. The lower parts of these mountains have natural forests. You can find trees like oak, beech, and pine there. Higher up, the mountains have limestone peaks, deep cuts, cliffs, and caves. This beautiful area is part of the Urkiola Natural Park.
