Abdullah Ensour (born January 20, 1939) is an economist from Jordan. He was the 40th Prime Minister of Jordan from October 2012 to May 2016. He is a very experienced politician who has held many important jobs in the Jordanian government.

Early Life and Education
Abdullah Ensour was born in a city called Salt in Jordan. He went to the American University of Beirut to study statistics. Later, he earned his master's degree in institutions management from the University of Michigan in the United States. He also received his PhD in planning from the Pantheon-Sorbonne University in France.
Abdullah Ensour's Career and Roles
Abdullah Ensour has had a long and important career in Jordan's government. He was first chosen as a member of the Jordanian Parliament in 1989. He served again in 1992 and 2010.
Ministerial Roles
Ensour held many different minister positions, which are like heads of government departments. Some of these roles included:
- Minister of Planning (1984, 1985)
- Minister of Education (1989)
- Minister of Foreign Affairs (1991)
- Minister of Industry and Trade (1993)
- Minister of Higher Education (1996)
- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Administrative Development (1997)

Besides being a minister, Ensour also held other significant roles:
- He was Jordan's representative to the World Bank.
- He was Jordan's deputy representative to the International Monetary Fund.
- He was also a deputy permanent representative to UNESCO, an organization that promotes education, science, and culture.
- He served on various boards, including the University of Jordan.
Becoming Prime Minister
In October 2012, King Abdullah II of Jordan chose Abdullah Ensour to be the Prime Minister. After new elections in January 2013, King Abdullah II asked Ensour to continue as Prime Minister. His second government officially started on March 30, 2013. His time as Prime Minister ended on May 29, 2016.
Personal Life
Abdullah Ensour has been married twice. His first wife, Hala Khleifat, passed away in 2015. They had three children together. His second wife is Ibtissam Hiary, and they have five children.
