Acheson is a special place in Alberta, Canada. It's known as a "locality," which means it's a small community, and also a big area for businesses and factories. It's part of Parkland County.

Acheson is located along the main railway line of Canadian National (CN). It's also found near several important roads, like Highway 60 (Devonian Way). This highway connects it to Highway 16A (Parkland Highway) and Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway).

Acheson is quite close to some bigger cities and towns. It's about 3.2 km (2.0 mi) west of Edmonton. It's also 5.7 km (3.5 mi) east of Spruce Grove and 20 km (12 mi) north of Devon.

This area was named after A. Acheson Tisdal, who was a railway official. Acheson first started as a place where the CN railway could repair its trains. Then, in the 1970s, more businesses and factories began to develop here. Today, the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board sees Acheson as a very important place for jobs.

Acheson Industrial Area: A Business Hub

The Acheson Industrial Area is a very important place for business in Parkland County. Think of it as a big center where many different companies operate. This area covers about 10,000 acres (4,000 ha) of land. More than 200 businesses have their homes here! In 2004, the Acheson Business Association was created to help these businesses work together.

This industrial area is carefully planned. It borders the city of Edmonton to the east and Highway 16 to the north. To the west, it reaches Spruce Valley Road, and to the south, it's next to Highway 628. Inside this large industrial area, you'll find smaller business parks. Some of these include the Ellis Industrial Park, the Sherwin Industrial Park, and West Acheson Industrial.
