Aculco de Espinoza, also known as San Jerónimo Aculco, is a special town in the State of Mexico, Mexico. Its name comes from the Nahuatl language, where it's called Acolco. In the Otomi language, it's known as Ndamëje. This town is the main center of the Aculco Municipality.

Aculco de Espinoza is part of the historic Camino Real de Tierra Adentro. This old trade route is so important that it's listed as a World Heritage Site. In 2015, the Mexican government gave Aculco de Espinoza the title of Pueblo Mágico, which means "Magical Town." This title is given to places that offer visitors a unique experience because of their natural beauty, rich history, or special traditions.

The name Acolco comes from the Nahuatl language. It means "place where the river arms twist." The word atl means water, and coltic means bent or twisted.

The last name "Espinoza" was added to the town's name in 1954. This was done to honor Ignacio Espinosa, a kind person who was born in Aculco. He was known for his generous actions.
