Playing for Soccer Clubs
Adrian Serioux started his soccer journey playing college soccer for the University of New Haven. After that, he began his professional career with the Toronto Lynx in a league called the A-League.
Early Career in Canada
In 2002, while still with the Toronto Lynx, Adrian was loaned to the Mississauga Olympians. He played his first game for them on September 11, 2002. He even scored his first goal for the Olympians on October 4, 2002, helping his team win. The Olympians made it to the playoffs that year.
Moving to England
After playing in Canada, Adrian Serioux moved to England to join Millwall. He was known for having a very long throw-in, which is a special skill in soccer. He once helped his team score a goal from a throw-in from the halfway line! During a game against Queens Park Rangers, he was sent off the field for throwing the ball at an opponent.
Playing in Major League Soccer
In March 2006, Adrian joined MLS in the United States. He signed with the MetroStars, but he was traded to Houston Dynamo before playing any games for them. He played well for Houston and helped them win the MLS Cup in 2006.
After one season, he was chosen by Toronto FC in a special draft. However, he was quickly traded to FC Dallas. In his first year with FC Dallas, he only played ten games because of a serious injury.
In May 2008, Adrian Serioux was fined for a strong tackle on another player, David Beckham. This tackle happened during a game.
Adrian was traded back to Toronto FC on February 24, 2009. He played for them again before his contract ended. In 2010, he returned to Houston Dynamo for another season. After the 2010 MLS season, Adrian became a free agent, meaning he could sign with any team.
Playing for Canada
Adrian Serioux also played for the Canadian national team. He made his first appearance for Canada in August 2004 in a World Cup qualification match against Guatemala. By December 2009, he had played 19 games for Canada and scored one goal. He represented Canada in eight FIFA World Cup qualification matches.
