Adrian Serioux (born May 12, 1979) is a Canadian retired professional soccer player. He played as a defender. Adrian was known for his strong defensive skills and powerful throw-ins. He played for teams in Canada, England, and the United States during his career. Serioux also proudly represented his home country, Canada, in international matches.

Adrian Serioux's Soccer Journey
Starting His Career
Adrian Serioux began his soccer journey playing college soccer for the University of New Haven. After college, he started his professional career with the Toronto Lynx. This team played in a league called the A-League. In 2002, he also played a few games on loan for the Mississauga Olympians.
Playing in England
After playing in Canada, Adrian moved to England. He joined a team called Millwall. While playing for Millwall, Adrian became known for his incredibly long throw-ins. He could throw the ball so far that it was like a corner kick! One time, he even helped his team score a goal against Leicester City with a throw-in from the halfway line.
Adventures in Major League Soccer
In 2006, Adrian Serioux joined MLS, which is the top soccer league in the United States and Canada. He first signed with the MetroStars. However, he was quickly traded to Houston Dynamo before the season began.
Adrian had a great first season with Houston. He helped the team win the MLS Cup in 2006, which is a big championship! After that, he was briefly part of Toronto FC but was soon traded to FC Dallas. In his first year with FC Dallas, he could only play ten games because of a serious injury.
In 2008, Adrian was fined for a strong tackle during a game against David Beckham. He was traded back to Toronto FC in 2009. His contract with Toronto FC was not renewed for the 2010 season. He later returned to Houston Dynamo for a short time before becoming a free agent.
Playing for Canada
Adrian Serioux also played for the Canadian national team. He made his first appearance for Canada in August 2004. This was during a World Cup qualification match against Guatemala.
He played a total of 19 games for Canada. He also scored one goal for his country. Adrian represented Canada in eight FIFA World Cup qualification matches, trying to help his team reach the World Cup.
