Ahmad Lozi OSJ (also spelled Ahmad al-Lawzi) (1925 – 18 November 2014) was an important politician from Jordan. He was the 21st Prime Minister of Jordan, serving from 1971 to 1973. This role is like being the head of the country's government. He became Prime Minister after Wasfi al-Tal.
Ahmad Lozi also held many other key positions. He was a member of Jordan's House of Representatives and the Senate. He served as a minister for different government departments. Later, he was the Chief of the Royal Court. He also led the Senate for 13 years. In 2011, he helped make changes to Jordan's Constitution of Jordan.

Early Life and Education
Ahmad Lozi was born in 1925 in Jubaiha, a town near Amman, Jordan. He went to the Teachers Training College in Baghdad, Iraq. In 1950, he earned a degree in literature there.
After college, Lozi worked as a teacher for three years. He taught at the Salt Secondary School. He also taught at Al Hussein Secondary School in Amman. Later, he started working for the government. He first worked for the Royal Court. Then, he moved to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Political Career Highlights
In 1956, Ahmad Lozi was chosen to lead the Royal Protocol. This role involves managing official ceremonies for the royal family. Five years later, in 1961, he was elected to the House of Representatives. He represented the Amman area.
During his time in the House, he supported the government's views. These views were about Palestine and the situation in Syria. He was re-elected the next year. In 1964, he became a Minister for Prime Ministry Affairs. He also served as a Minister without portfolio that same year. From 1965 to 1967, Lozi was a member of the Senate of Jordan. In 1967, he was named Minister for Municipal Affairs. This role deals with local government matters.
In 1970, he became the Minister of Finance. This means he was in charge of the country's money. On November 29, 1971, he became the Prime Minister of Jordan. He took over after Wasfi al-Tal, who had passed away. Lozi served as Prime Minister until May 26, 1973. He resigned due to illness.
From 1978 to 1979, he was President of the National Consultative Council. This was an advisory group. Lozi then served as Chief of the Royal Court from 1979 to 1984. This is a very important role, working closely with the King.
On January 11, 1984, King Hussein of Jordan changed the Senate. Lozi was made President of the Senate the next day. He held this important position for 13 years, from 1984 to 1997. He resigned on June 7, 1997. Zaid al-Rifai took over from him.
Lozi believed in Jordan's move towards democracy in the 1990s. He felt the progress was happening as fast as possible.
Later Life and Contributions
After leaving the Senate in 1997, Lozi continued to be active. In 2000, he became the chairman of the board of trustees for the University of Jordan.
Even in his later years, he stayed involved in politics. In 2011, King Abdullah II of Jordan asked Lozi to lead a special committee. This committee looked at making changes to the Constitution of Jordan. Lozi said the goal was to make the constitution better. He wanted it to respond to changes and help democracy grow. The committee suggested giving more power to the parliament. They also wanted to improve civil liberties for people.
In June 2014, Lozi opened the Habes Al Majali Museum. This happened on Army Day. In August 2014, important people, including King Abdullah II of Jordan, met at Lozi's house. They talked about challenges facing Jordan.
Death
Ahmad Lozi passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. He was 89 years old. He was buried the next day in the Royal Cemetery. Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein attended the ceremony.
