Ainsworth is a small town located in Langlade County, Wisconsin, in the United States. It was officially started in 1904. The town got its name from Thomas Ainsworth. He was a civil engineer who helped build the Wolf River Dam back in 1869.
In 2010, the town had a population of 469 people. This was a bit less than the 571 people counted in the year 2000. A small community called Pearson is also part of Ainsworth. The town gets its fire and ambulance services from the Pickerel Volunteer Fire Department and the Pickerel Rescue Squad.
Ainsworth's Location and Nature
Ainsworth is in the northern part of Langlade County. It shares its northern border with Forest County. The community of Pearson is in the western-central area of the town. This is where the Wolf River meets the Hunting River.
The town of Ainsworth covers a total area of about 186.8 square kilometers (72.1 square miles). Most of this area, about 179.5 square kilometers (69.3 square miles), is land. The rest, about 7.2 square kilometers (2.8 square miles), is water.
The Wolf River flows through the town from the northwest to the southeast. This river is an important part of the larger Fox River system. You can also find Rolling Stone Lake and the western part of Pickerel Lake in the northeast of Ainsworth. Water from these lakes flows into the Wolf River through Pickerel Creek.

Based on information from the year 2000, there were 571 people living in Ainsworth. These people lived in 255 different homes. Most of the people living in Ainsworth were White (about 98.77%).
