Albert Latimer (born October 14, 1957) is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL) for four seasons. His NFL teams included the Philadelphia Eagles and the Detroit Lions. Before playing professionally, he played college football at Ferrum College and Clemson University.

About Al Latimer's Early Life
Albert Latimer was born on October 14, 1957, in Winter Park, Florida. He grew up and attended Lyman High School in Longwood, Florida.
Playing College Football
Latimer began his college football career at Ferrum College. He played there from 1975 to 1976 and was a starter for two years. Besides football, he also participated in track and field at Ferrum.
After Ferrum, he joined the Clemson Tigers team. He played for Clemson from 1977 to 1978. In 1978, he earned a letter for his achievements in sports. In 2004, Ferrum College honored Latimer by adding him to their athletics hall of fame.
Al Latimer's Professional Football Career
After college, Al Latimer was not chosen in the 1979 NFL draft. However, he signed with the Philadelphia Eagles on May 8, 1979.
Time with the Philadelphia Eagles
In his first year, 1979, Latimer played in 13 games for the Eagles. Later that year, on November 28, he was placed on injured reserve. This means he couldn't play due to an injury. The next year, on August 19, 1980, he was again placed on injured reserve. The Eagles released him on October 7, 1980.
Brief Time with the San Francisco 49ers
Latimer then signed with the San Francisco 49ers on October 29, 1980. He did not play in any games for the 49ers. He was released by the team on November 8, 1980.
Playing in the CFL
In 1981, Latimer joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was released in late June 1981, before the start of the 1981 CFL season.
Years with the Detroit Lions
Latimer signed with the Detroit Lions on July 5, 1982. On August 30, he was placed on injured reserve again. He was able to play again on December 1. During the 1982 season, he played in four games and started two of them. He also started one playoff game that year.
In the 1983 season, Latimer started the first eight games. He made one interception during this time. On October 27, 1983, he was placed on injured reserve once more. In 1984, he played in 15 games and recovered one fumble. The Lions released Latimer on August 22, 1985.
