Alana Kathryn Dillette was born on December 2, 1987. She is an amazing swimmer from The Bahamas. Alana is also a university professor.
She represented her country, The Bahamas, in big swimming competitions. These included the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2007 Pan American Games. Alana also swam for Auburn University in the USA while she was a student there.
Winning a Medal
At the 2007 Pan American Games, Alana helped her team win a bronze medal. This was for the women's 4 × 100 meter medley relay race. She swam alongside her teammates Alicia Lightbourne, Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace, and Nikia Deveaux.
Life After Swimming
Alana studied travel and tourism at university. As of 2022, she is an Assistant Professor. She teaches at the L. Robert Payne School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. This school is part of San Diego State University. Alana is very interested in studying the Black Travel Movement. This movement looks at how Black people travel and explore the world.
