Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Kokorin (born 19 March 1991) is a professional footballer from Russia. He plays as a forward for the Cypriot club Aris Limassol.

Kokorin became a well-known player during the 2012–13 season. He has played more than 45 games for the Russian national team. He was also part of the Russian squads for major tournaments like Euro 2012, the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and Euro 2016.

Aleksandr Kokorin started his senior career with FC Dynamo Moscow on 4 October 2008. He scored a goal in his first game, becoming the youngest player to score for Dynamo in the Russian Premier League. He was only 17 years and 199 days old.

On 29 July 2009, he scored an important goal against Celtic F.C. in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

At the end of the 2012–13 season, he was recognized as one of the top players in his position.

On 4 July 2013, Kokorin joined Anzhi Makhachkala. However, he did not play any official games for them. Soon after, he moved back to Dynamo Moscow.

Zenit Saint Petersburg

On 30 January 2016, Kokorin transferred from Dynamo to FC Zenit Saint Petersburg. He scored his first goal for Zenit on 9 April 2016. After some time, he signed a new contract with Zenit until the end of the 2019–20 season.

Sochi

On 21 January 2020, Kokorin joined PFC Sochi on loan. This loan lasted until the end of the 2019–20 season.

On 19 June 2020, he scored three goals in one game (a hat-trick) for Sochi. This was a big 10–1 win against FC Rostov.

Spartak Moscow

On 2 August 2020, Spartak Moscow signed Kokorin to a three-year contract. This happened after his contract with Zenit St. Petersburg ended.

Fiorentina

On 21 January 2021, Spartak announced that Kokorin would transfer to Serie A club Fiorentina in Italy. Fiorentina confirmed the signing on 27 January 2021. He was the second Russian player to join the club.

In August 2022, he was loaned to Aris Limassol in Cyprus. He helped Aris Limassol win their first ever Cypriot First Division championship. He was also named the most valuable player of the Cypriot season. In September 2023, he returned to Aris for another loan period.

International Career

Kokorin played for the Russia U-21 team. He was called up to the Russia national football team in November 2011. He made his debut on 11 November in a friendly game against Greece.

He scored his first goal for the national team on 11 September 2012. This was during a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Israel. Russia won that game 4–0.

On 2 June 2014, he was chosen for Russia's 2014 FIFA World Cup squad. He scored Russia's goal in their 1–1 draw against Algeria.

Kokorin scored three goals during Russia's successful UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying campaign. On 12 October 2015, he scored a penalty against Montenegro. This win secured Russia's place in the tournament. He played in all three matches at Euro 2016.

On 15 March 2018, he got a serious knee injury (an ACL tear). Because of this injury, he missed the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
