Alexis Peak is a tall mountain in British Columbia, Canada. It stands 2,123 metres (about 6,965 feet) high. This impressive peak is part of the Misinchinka Ranges, which are found within the larger Hart Ranges in northern British Columbia.

Why is it Called Alexis Peak?

Alexis Peak is named to honor a brave Canadian soldier. His name was Lance Corporal Alexander Alexis. He was from Prince George, British Columbia.

Honoring a Soldier

Lance Corporal Alexis was a member of the Canadian Army. He served with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, a famous Canadian military unit. He was part of the 3rd Canadian Division.

A Hero's Sacrifice

Lance Corporal Alexander Alexis died while serving his country. This happened on August 18, 1944. He was involved in a major event called Operation Tractable. This operation was part of the final days of the Battle of Falaise Pocket. This battle was a very important part of World War II.
