Ali Raymi (born Ali Ibrahim Ali Al-Raimi; Arabic: علي الريمي; 7 December 1973 – 23 May 2015) was a Yemeni colonel and professional boxer. He was famous for his amazing boxing record: 25 wins and no losses. All 25 of his wins were by knockout, and 22 of them happened in the very first round!

Raymi lived in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, before 1991. He passed away in an explosion on May 23, 2015, in Sana'a, Yemen, when he was 41 years old. This explosion might have been an airstrike.

Ali Raymi's Life and Career

Early Life and Military Service

Ali Raymi was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, in 1973. He later moved to Yemen. He joined the Yemeni military in 1991 and became a Colonel. He was part of the 3rd Armored Brigade and the Reserve Forces.

He also represented the Yemeni military in amateur boxing. It is said he won a gold medal in Algeria. His amateur boxing record was supposedly 117 wins and only 2 losses, with all wins by knockout. However, there isn't official proof for this record.

His Amazing Boxing Career

Ali Raymi started his professional boxing career when he was 30 years old. He was a Yemeni amateur champion several times between 2004 and 2007. During this time, he began to challenge fighters from other countries. He also took part in private, unofficial fights. He became known in Sana'a for his unique style.

On November 11, 2013, Ali Raymi set a new world record. He won his first 20 professional fights, and every single one of them ended with a first-round knockout! This was a truly incredible achievement in the boxing world.

He fought a boxer named Prince Maz four times. These fights were tougher for Raymi, as Prince Maz was the first opponent to make him fight beyond the first round in three of their four matches.

A Boxer's Legacy

Ali Raymi, who was a Colonel in Yemen's Anti-Terrorism forces, died in an explosion on May 23, 2015.

Even after his death, Ali Raymi was still recognized by major boxing organizations. In December 2013, he was ranked among the top ten boxers by the WBO and the WBC. The IBO even ranked him number one in August 2014.

His boxing record was very impressive because he won all his fights by knockout. However, some boxing experts, like Dan Rafael from ESPN, pointed out that Raymi mostly fought against less famous opponents. This made his perfect record seem less significant to some. Despite this, Ali Raymi's record of 25 wins, all by knockout, remains a remarkable part of boxing history.
