Alix Lapri (born November 6, 1996) is a talented American singer, songwriter, and actress. She grew up in Topeka, Kansas, and loved performing in talent shows when she was young. You might know her best as Effie Morales from the TV shows Power and Power Book II: Ghost.

In 2011, Alix Lapri signed with Crown World Entertainment. There, she became friends with Jacob Latimore, who was also with the same company. They often recorded popular song covers together. One famous cover they did was "My Boo," originally sung by Usher and Alicia Keys. In 2012, Lapri released her first collection of songs, called an extended play (EP), titled I Am Alix Lapri. This EP was available for free and received many good reviews.

Alix Lapri started her acting journey in 2012. She appeared as a guest star in a few episodes of Reed Between the Lines, playing the character Nataya. After this, she also had roles in other TV shows. These include Red Band Society (2014), where she played Quinby. She also acted in big movies like Den of Thieves (2018), playing the role of Maloa.

Life and Career

Early Life and Music Beginnings (2003–2010)

Alix Lapri, whose full name is Alexus Lapri Geier, was born on November 6, 1996, in Topeka, Kansas. Her mother is Lynn Geier. Alix is the oldest of three children. She became interested in music at a very young age.

Starting Acting and First EP (2011–2013)

In July 2011, Alix Lapri released her own version of Jawan Harris's song "Keisha." Her remix was called "Forget Keisha" and featured Tyga. This song became very popular on BET's show "106 & Park." Alix was a big fan of Jawan Harris and loved his voice, which inspired her to record the remix. Her version was a hit with his fans and helped her gain a lot of attention.

The next month, she and her record label friend, Jacob Latimore, recorded a cover of "My Boo." This song was originally by Alicia Keys and Usher. In December, Lapri was featured on Jawan Harris's "It’s On!" mixtape. On this mixtape, she recorded a fun, age-friendly remix of Big Sean’s "Marvin & Chardonnay." It was renamed "Chris Brown and Kool-Aid" and featured Issa.

In January 2012, Alix was on Issa's mixtape, King Issa, in a song called "Arriven." In July, she released her first EP, "I Am Alix Lapri." This collection of songs was free to download and got good reviews. Crown World Entertainment planned a "No. 1 Girl Power Tour" with Alix and other performers. However, the tour was canceled before it started. In October, she appeared on the first season of BET's Reed Between the Lines as Nataya. She acted alongside Tracee Ellis Ross and Malcolm-Jamal Warner.

In November, Alix sang the National Anthem at a WNBA basketball game in Atlanta. She was also featured on Jacob Latimore's "This Is Me" mixtape. She sang on the song "Clique" with Jacob and Justin Martin. These three were the first artists to sign with Crown World Entertainment. In December, she was on the cover of Sesi Magazine. She also recorded a cover of "Nobody's Business" by Rihanna and Chris Brown with Rick of Bluff City. The music video for it came out the next week. In May 2013, Lapri was featured on the cover of G3 Magazine. She also played Tiwana in the movie Standing Up, which was released in August.

New Music and Movies (2014–Present)

In 2014, Alix Lapri guest-starred in Red Band Society as Quinby. This was in the episode called "There's No Place Like Homecoming." Quinby was a shy teenager who became friends with Emma at her first school dance. Alix also played Brittany in Core: A Short Film About Bullying. This film was made two years before its release in 2014.

In 2015, Jacob Latimore and Alix Lapri released a cover of Rae Sremmurd's "Throw Summo." She also released a cover for "Wish Your Love Away" by Brandy. Alix and Jacob went to the 2015 Kids Choice Awards together. There, she talked about her large YouTube fan base. She also mentioned finding a new sound for her music. She covered Cher Lloyd's "With Ur Love" and released a music video for it. In 2016, Lapri released a song with Brandon Rossi called "5 Mo Minutes." This song is from new music Alix is working on. She also released a cover of "Too Good" by Drake.

In 2017, it was announced that Lapri would join Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker in the movie Downsized. This film is about Ebony (Nicole) and Michael (Boris) who become teenage parents. They have to put their personal goals aside to support their family. In the end, they overcome challenges and build a good life for themselves. Lapri also starred alongside Gerard Butler and 50 Cent in the movie Den of Thieves. She played the role of Maloa. Den of Thieves is about a thief caught between two groups of criminals while planning a bank heist. It was released on January 19, 2018.
