History of the Church

This church was built a very long time ago, in the 1200s. It has stood for many centuries.

Restoration Work

The church was repaired and made new again in 1844. Queen Adelaide, who was a former queen, even helped pay for it. The church reopened on December 23, 1844.

Oldest Stained Glass Window

All Saints’ Church has something very special inside. It has what is probably the oldest complete stained glass window in any English parish church. This window shows a figure of an Archangel. Experts believe it was made in the early 1100s. It was likely designed for a smaller window opening. Now, it is placed in one of the south windows of the church.

The Church Organ
