Allen is a small village in Hillsdale County, Michigan. In 2020, about 201 people lived there.
Allen is located inside Allen Township. It sits where two main roads meet: U.S. Route 12 and M-49. The village is quite small, covering only about 0.174 square miles (0.451 square kilometers). This makes Allen one of the smallest villages in Michigan.

History of Allen Village
The area was first settled in 1827 by Captain Moses Allen and his family. He was a veteran of the War of 1812.
A post office opened in 1830, first called Sylvanus. In 1868, its name was changed to Allen to honor Moses Allen. That same year, the community was officially mapped out. Allen also got a train station along the Lake Shore and Michigan Southern Railway. In 1950, Allen officially became a village.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the village is entirely land. It covers about 0.174 square miles (0.451 square kilometers).
Main Roads in Allen
- U.S. Route 12 (also called W. Chicago Street) goes through the middle of the village from east to west.
- M-49 (also called N. Railroad Street) comes into the village from the north. It briefly joins with US 12.
