Allen Chapman, born on July 23, 1991, is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback, which is a defensive position. After college, he was signed by the Indianapolis Colts in 2013. Chapman also played in the Indoor Football League (IFL). He played college football for Kansas State.

High School Football Journey

Allen Chapman went to Oak Grove High School in San Jose, California. There, he played both football and basketball. He was recognized as a top player in 2007 and 2008. In 2008, he was named the Most Valuable Defensive Back. During his senior year, he made 34 tackles and caught three interceptions. He also helped his team by rushing for 332 yards and scoring eight touchdowns.

College Football Career

Playing at Community College

After high school, Allen Chapman did not receive any scholarships right away. So, he decided to play close to home at the City College of San Francisco Rams. For two years, he was a key player for the Rams. He made 39 tackles and had 15 interceptions. He also scored three touchdowns. In 2010, he helped his team achieve a great 12–1 record. They won the NorCal Championship but lost in the state championship game.

Soon, many big colleges became interested in Chapman. He was seen as a promising player. He chose to accept a scholarship from Kansas State. He wanted to play for their famous coach, Bill Snyder.

Time at Kansas State

In 2011, during his junior year, Chapman made 50 tackles. He also had an interception that he returned 60 yards for a touchdown. This happened in a game against #3 Oklahoma State. As a senior in 2012, he played even more. He had his best year with 57 tackles and six interceptions. On November 3, he tied a record in the Big 12 Conference. He made three interceptions in one game against Oklahoma State. One of these he returned 29 yards for a touchdown. For this amazing performance, he received special awards.

Professional Football Journey

Joining the Indianapolis Colts

After the 2013 NFL Draft, Allen Chapman was not chosen by any team. However, the Indianapolis Colts signed him as a free agent on May 12, 2013. He had impressed them during a tryout camp. Chapman was later released by the Colts on August 25, 2013, as teams reduced their rosters.

Playing for the Arizona Rattlers

On November 1, 2013, Chapman joined the Arizona Rattlers in the Arena Football League. He played his first game on April 26, 2014. In that game, he helped his team win 69–59. A few weeks later, on June 6, he made his first professional interception. He returned it 21 yards for a touchdown, helping the Rattlers win 70–59.

Moving to New Orleans and Portland

On March 23, 2015, Chapman was traded to the New Orleans VooDoo. A week later, on March 30, 2015, he was traded again to the Portland Thunder. He played for the Thunder until July 8, 2015.

Returning to the Arizona Rattlers

On November 9, 2015, Chapman was assigned back to the Arizona Rattlers. He signed with them again on January 19, 2017. In 2017, he was named First-team All-Indoor Football League. On July 8, the Rattlers won the United Bowl by defeating the Sioux Falls Storm 50–41. Chapman re-signed with the Rattlers on September 12, 2017.

Time with the Tampa Bay Storm

On July 31, 2017, Chapman joined the Tampa Bay Storm. However, the Storm team stopped playing in December 2017.
