Alycia Baumgardner (born May 24, 1994) is an American professional boxer. She is known as "The Bomb" because of her powerful punches. Since 2021, she has held several important boxing titles. These include the WBC and IBO female super featherweight titles. In 2022, she added the WBO, IBF, and The Ring female super featherweight titles. On February 4, 2023, Alycia became the undisputed female super featherweight champion of the world. This means she held all the major titles in her weight class at the same time.

Alycia Baumgardner grew up in Fremont, Ohio, in the United States. Her family background is quite diverse. Her mother has German, Japanese, and Korean roots. Her father is African-American.
Alycia's Boxing Journey
Starting Her Professional Career
Alycia Baumgardner began her professional boxing career on March 4, 2017. Her first fight was against Britain Hart. Alycia won this fight very quickly, by a technical knockout in the first round. Just 22 days later, she won her second fight in only 63 seconds. She continued to win her next two fights just as fast. She stopped Lashanda Tabron in 57 seconds and Brittney Artis in 36 seconds in 2017.
On February 10, 2018, Alycia fought Nydia Feliciano. She won her first professional championship, the vacant WBC International super featherweight title, by a unanimous decision. However, she lost her first title defense on July 28, 2018, to Christina Linardatou. This was her first professional loss.
Alycia got back to winning ways on May 10, 2019, against Gabriella Mezei. She won by a first-round technical knockout. She then won against Annette Pabello by unanimous decision on November 2, 2019. Her last fight of 2019 was on December 14, where she defeated Cristina Del Valle Pacheco with another first-round technical knockout.
Becoming a Unified Champion
Fighting Terri Harper
In October 2021, it was announced that Alycia would fight Terri Harper. Harper was the WBC and IBO female super featherweight champion. Their big fight happened on November 13, 2021, in Sheffield, England. Alycia won by a technical knockout in the fourth round. She landed a powerful punch that caused the referee to stop the fight. Many boxing experts praised the referee for stopping the fight to protect Harper.
After this impressive win, Alycia signed a deal with Matchroom Boxing in December 2021. Her knockout against Terri Harper was named the 2021 Female Knockout of the Year by the World Boxing Council (WBC). BoxingScene.com also gave her this award.
Defending Her Titles Against Edith Soledad Matthysse
In April 2022, Alycia had her first title defense with Matchroom Boxing. She fought Edith Soledad Matthysse on April 16 in Manchester, England. Matthysse was a former unified featherweight world champion. Alycia successfully kept her WBC and IBO titles. She won by a unanimous decision, with all judges scoring the fight 100–90 in her favor. This showed her strong control throughout the ten rounds.
Winning More Titles Against Mikaela Mayer
In October 2022, Alycia faced Mikaela Mayer. This was a very important fight. Alycia won by a split decision, meaning two judges scored it for her and one for Mayer. With this victory, she added the WBO, IBF, and The Ring super featherweight titles to her collection. Boxing experts noted Alycia's fast start and powerful punches. She landed more total punches and significantly more power shots than Mayer.
Becoming the Undisputed Champion
The Fight for All the Belts: Alycia vs. Elhem Mekhaled
On February 4, 2023, Alycia fought Elhem Mekhaled for the vacant WBA super featherweight championship. This fight was held in New York City. Alycia knocked Mekhaled down twice in the third round. She won the fight by a unanimous decision. This victory made her the undisputed female super featherweight champion. She now held all five major titles in her weight class!
Rematch with Christina Linardatou
Alycia's first defense as the undisputed champion was against Christina Linardatou. Linardatou was the only boxer who had beaten Alycia in her professional career, back in 2018. The rematch took place on July 15, 2023, in Detroit, Michigan. Alycia won this fight by a clear unanimous decision. This win showed how much she had improved since their first match.
After an investigation into a sample from July 2023, Alycia was cleared by the WBC in March 2024. The Association of Boxing Commissions also lifted her temporary suspension, allowing her to return to boxing.
Fighting Delfine Persoon
On September 27, 2024, Alycia defended her WBC super featherweight title against Delfine Persoon in Atlanta, Georgia. The fight was stopped in the fourth round. Persoon got a cut above her right eye from an accidental head clash. The fight was ruled a No Contest, meaning it didn't count as a win or loss for either boxer. Alycia kept her titles.
Defending Against Jennifer Miranda
Alycia Baumgardner defended her undisputed super featherweight title against Jennifer Miranda on July 11, 2025. The fight took place at Madison Square Garden in New York. Alycia won the fight by unanimous decision, keeping all her championship belts.
