Alycia's Boxing Journey

Starting Her Professional Career

Alycia Baumgardner began her professional boxing career on March 4, 2017. Her first fight was against Britain Hart. Alycia won this fight very quickly, by a technical knockout in the first round. Just 22 days later, she won her second fight in only 63 seconds. She continued to win her next two fights just as fast. She stopped Lashanda Tabron in 57 seconds and Brittney Artis in 36 seconds in 2017.

On February 10, 2018, Alycia fought Nydia Feliciano. She won her first professional championship, the vacant WBC International super featherweight title, by a unanimous decision. However, she lost her first title defense on July 28, 2018, to Christina Linardatou. This was her first professional loss.

Alycia got back to winning ways on May 10, 2019, against Gabriella Mezei. She won by a first-round technical knockout. She then won against Annette Pabello by unanimous decision on November 2, 2019. Her last fight of 2019 was on December 14, where she defeated Cristina Del Valle Pacheco with another first-round technical knockout.

Becoming a Unified Champion

Fighting Terri Harper

In October 2021, it was announced that Alycia would fight Terri Harper. Harper was the WBC and IBO female super featherweight champion. Their big fight happened on November 13, 2021, in Sheffield, England. Alycia won by a technical knockout in the fourth round. She landed a powerful punch that caused the referee to stop the fight. Many boxing experts praised the referee for stopping the fight to protect Harper.

After this impressive win, Alycia signed a deal with Matchroom Boxing in December 2021. Her knockout against Terri Harper was named the 2021 Female Knockout of the Year by the World Boxing Council (WBC). BoxingScene.com also gave her this award.

Defending Her Titles Against Edith Soledad Matthysse
