Alycia Jasmin Debnam-Carey (born on July 20, 1993) is an Australian actress. She started acting in movies when she was ten years old. Her first big movie role was in the disaster film Into the Storm in 2014.
Alycia is well-known for playing Lexa in the science fiction TV show The 100 from 2014 to 2016. She also starred as Alicia Clark in the horror drama series Fear the Walking Dead from 2015 to 2023. She even directed an episode of Fear the Walking Dead! In 2023, she played Alice Hart in the Australian drama series The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart.

Early Life and Education
Alycia Debnam-Carey was born in Sydney, Australia. Her mom, Leone Carey, wrote TV shows for kids. Her dad was a musician. When Alycia and her brother were little, they would help their mom practice her TV show ideas.
Alycia started acting when she was eight years old. She also played classical percussion, like drums and other instruments, for ten years.
She went to Newtown High School of the Performing Arts. There, she was a percussionist. In 2010, she worked with the famous Berlin Philharmonic orchestra. She and about 40 other musicians wrote a piece of music. They performed it at the Sydney Opera House.
In her last year of high school, Alycia did very well. She got top grades in many subjects. She even won an award called the Premier's Award for her high scores. She also got special nominations for her work in drama and music. After graduating in 2011, she thought about going to a music school. But she decided to follow her dream of acting instead.
Career
Starting Out (2003–2013)
Alycia's first movie role was at age ten in a short film called Martha's New Coat (2003). Later, she had small roles in Australian TV shows like McLeod's Daughters and Dance Academy. She also voiced a character in an animated short film.
After high school, Alycia decided to go to the United States to try acting in Hollywood. She was part of a TV show called Next Stop Hollywood (2013). This show followed six Australian actors as they tried to get roles in American TV shows.
While in Los Angeles, Alycia auditioned for a TV show called The Carrie Diaries. She also tried out for a thriller movie. She was almost chosen for The Carrie Diaries, but they thought she looked too young. However, she got the main role in the thriller movie, which was later called The Devil's Hand.
The 100 and Fear the Walking Dead (2014–2022)
In 2014, Alycia played a role in the movie Into the Storm. This was a big disaster film.
She then got a guest role in the second season of the TV show The 100. She played a character named Lexa. Lexa quickly became a very popular character with fans. This role helped Alycia become more widely known.
Around the same time, Alycia was cast in another big TV show called Fear the Walking Dead. She played Alicia Clark, one of the main characters. This show started in August 2015. Alycia worked on both The 100 and Fear the Walking Dead for a while.
Fans and critics praised Alycia's acting in both shows. Many people said she was a "breakout star." She won an MTV Fandom Award in 2016 for her role as Lexa. She also won E! Online TV Scoop Awards for her work.

Recent Work (2023–Present)
In 2023, Alycia starred as Emily in the TV series Saint X. This show was a mystery drama.
She also played Alice Hart in The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. In this Amazon series, she acted alongside famous actress Sigourney Weaver. Alycia was nominated for an AACTA Award for her role in this show.
In November 2023, the fashion brand Dior announced that Alycia would be their first Australian ambassador.
In 2024, Alycia appeared in a sci-fi thriller movie called It's What's Inside. She will also star in a new Netflix series called Apple Cider Vinegar. This show is based on a real story about health and wellness scams.
