Alyssa Jean Anderson (born September 30, 1990) is an American swimmer. She is an Olympic gold medalist. Alyssa represented the United States at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

About Alyssa Anderson
Alyssa Anderson was born in Santa Clara, California. She grew up in Granite Bay, California. She went to the University of Arizona. There, she swam for the Arizona Wildcats women's swim team. She competed in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) from 2008 to 2012.
Family of Swimmers
Alyssa has a younger sister named Haley Anderson. Haley is also a talented swimmer. Both sisters competed together at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships.

Alyssa Anderson has achieved many great things in swimming. She started showing her talent early in her career.
Early Achievements
At the 2007 Junior Pan Pacific Championships, Alyssa won two silver medals. These were in the 800-meter and 1,500-meter freestyle races.
World Championships
In 2009, Alyssa competed at the U.S. Nationals and World Championship Trials. She finished fourth in the 200-meter freestyle. This earned her a spot on the U.S. 4x200-meter freestyle relay team. She then went to the 2009 World Aquatics Championships in Rome. There, she swam the third part of the relay preliminaries. The U.S. team made it to the final and won a silver medal.
Olympic Success
Alyssa made her first U.S. Olympic team in 2012. This happened at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska. She finished sixth in the 200-meter freestyle. This qualified her for the 4x200-meter freestyle relay team.
At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Alyssa swam in the preliminary heats. Her U.S. team won the gold medal in the women's 4x200-meter freestyle relay. Her sister, Haley Anderson, also won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics. Haley's medal was in the 10-kilometer open water marathon.
