Amado Boudou (born 19 November 1962) is an Argentine economist and politician. He served as the Vice President of Argentina from 2011 to 2015. Before that, he was the Minister of Economy from 2009 to 2011. He later faced legal challenges and was prevented from holding public office again.

Early Life and Education
Amado Boudou was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1962. He grew up in Mar del Plata, a city by the ocean. He studied at the National University of Mar del Plata, where he earned a degree in economics in 1986.
While he was a student, Amado Boudou was known for being friendly and enjoying music, especially playing the bass guitar. He even helped organize several rock concerts in Mar del Plata. After university, he continued his studies and earned a master's degree in economics.
Early Career in Public Service
Boudou started working in public service in 1998. He joined the National Social Security Administration (ANSES), which is a government agency that helps manage social security for people in Argentina. He later became a general manager there.
In 2001, he became the Finance Secretary for the La Costa District, a popular resort area. In this role, he helped bring a housing plan to the district, which provided homes for many families. He returned to ANSES in 2006.
Becoming a National Leader
In 2008, Amado Boudou was appointed as the director of ANSES. This was an important role, especially when the government decided to transfer many private pension funds to ANSES. This decision aimed to help the government manage finances better during a time of economic challenges.
In 2009, he became the Minister of Economy. This meant he was in charge of Argentina's financial plans and policies. He worked on important economic issues, like managing the country's debt.
Vice President of Argentina

In 2011, Amado Boudou was chosen to be the running mate for President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner in the national elections. During the election campaign, he was known for playing his bass guitar at rallies and acting as a DJ, which made him popular with many people.
They won the election with a large number of votes. As Vice President, Amado Boudou sometimes took over presidential duties when President Fernández de Kirchner was unable to, for example, when she had surgery. He served as Vice President until 2015.
Legal Challenges
After his time as Vice President, Amado Boudou faced legal investigations. These investigations looked into his actions while he was in public office. In 2018, a court ruled on these matters, and he was prevented from holding public office again.
Amado Boudou has stated that he believes he was unfairly targeted.
