Andreas Heraf (born 10 September 1967) is a football manager and former player from Austria. He used to play as a Midfielder. Most recently, he was the head coach for the German team BFC Dynamo. He also worked as a technical director for New Zealand Football and coached the New Zealand women's national team.

Playing Career: A Midfielder's Journey
Andreas Heraf was a strong defensive midfielder. He started his professional football career at Rapid Wien, a big club in his hometown of Vienna. In 1988, he moved to another Vienna club, First Vienna.
He also played for Austria Salzburg and Vorwärts Steyr. For a short time, he played in Germany for Hannover 96. Then, he returned to Rapid Wien. During his second time at Rapid, he played in an important match: the 1995–96 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup Final in Brussels. Rapid Wien lost that game to Paris St Germain. He finished his playing career at FC Kärnten.
Playing for Austria: National Team Appearances
Andreas Heraf also played for his country, the Austrian national team. He made his first appearance in April 1996 in a friendly match against Hungary. He was part of the team for the 1998 FIFA World Cup, but he did not get to play in any games during the tournament.
He played a total of 11 matches for Austria. He scored his only goal for the national team against Latvia in 1997. His last game for Austria was in October 1998, a World Cup qualification match against San Marino.
Coaching Career: From Player to Manager
After he stopped playing football, Andreas Heraf became a coach. He managed several clubs in Austria, including Austria Lustenau, SC Schwanenstadt, and FC Superfund. He also coached the Austrian U20 and U17 national youth teams for many years.
Coaching in New Zealand
In 2017, Andreas Heraf moved to New Zealand. He became the technical director for New Zealand Football. Later that year, he also took on the role of head coach for the New Zealand women's national team, known as the Football Ferns.
After a match in June 2018, some players raised concerns about his coaching style. New Zealand Football looked into these concerns. In July, it was announced that Andreas Heraf and New Zealand Football had decided to go their separate ways, and he left his coaching role.
Return to European Coaching
After leaving New Zealand, Andreas Heraf returned to Europe. He coached Floridsdorfer AC and SV Ried in Austria. In December 2021, he joined Türkgücü München in Germany. Later, in 2022, he became the manager of Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz.
In April 2024, Heraf was announced as the new head coach for the German team BFC Dynamo. However, after only two months and six matches, he had to step down from his role due to health reasons. The club announced in September 2024 that his contract had ended.
