Andrew Fabian Nicholson (born December 8, 1989) is a professional basketball player from Canada. He plays for the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus in the Korean Basketball League (KBL). Before joining the pros, he played college basketball at St. Bonaventure University. The Orlando Magic picked him as the 19th player in the 2012 NBA draft.

High School Basketball Journey
Andrew Nicholson started playing basketball later than many, only beginning in his junior year of high school. He worked hard and gained attention in his senior year. He was named to the Toronto Star High School All-Stars in both 2007 and 2008. Andrew also won the MVP award in five different tournaments.
College Basketball Star
Andrew played college basketball for St. Bonaventure. He quickly became a standout player.
Freshman Year Success
In his first year (2008–09), Andrew was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year. He led all first-year players across the country in how well he shot the ball and in blocks. He averaged 12.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
Growing as a Player
In his sophomore year (2009–10), Andrew continued to improve. He was named to the second-team All-Atlantic 10. He averaged 16.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. He even scored a season-high 29 points twice!
Junior and Senior Year Highlights
By his junior year (2010–11), Andrew was a top player. He earned first-team All-Atlantic 10 honors. He scored over 1,000 career points during this season. In one amazing game, he scored a career-high 44 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
In his senior year (2011–12), Andrew was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Year. This is a huge honor! He was the first St. Bonaventure player to win this award in a long time. He also became the first player in the league's history to win four Player of the Week awards in a row. He finished his college career with over 2,100 points and 880 rebounds.
Professional Basketball Career
Joining the NBA: Orlando Magic (2012–2016)
The Orlando Magic chose Andrew Nicholson in the 2012 NBA draft. He signed his first professional contract in July 2012. In his first summer league game, he scored 24 points and had 12 rebounds.
He made his official NBA debut on November 2, 2012. On December 29, he scored a career-high 22 points. He also had his first "double-double" (scoring double digits in two different stats, like points and rebounds) on February 1, 2013. Andrew was even chosen to play in the Rising Stars Challenge during the 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend.
He continued to play for the Magic for several seasons. In March 2016, he scored a new career-high of 24 points in a game against the Brooklyn Nets.
Moving Teams: Washington Wizards and Brooklyn Nets (2016–2017)
In July 2016, Andrew signed with the Washington Wizards. He played his first game for them in October, scoring nine points.
In February 2017, Andrew was traded to the Brooklyn Nets. He played for the Nets for a short time before being traded again to the Portland Trail Blazers. He was later released by the Trail Blazers.
Playing Around the World (2017–Present)
After his time in the NBA, Andrew began playing basketball internationally.
- He joined the Guangdong Southern Tigers in China in September 2017.
- In 2018, he signed with the Fujian Sturgeons, also in China.
- He then played for the Guangzhou Loong Lions in the 2019–20 season, averaging 26.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.
- He returned to Fujian in 2020.
- In 2021, Andrew moved to South Korea to play for the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus in the Korean Basketball League (KBL).
- He also played for the Bay Area Dragons in 2022, competing in the Philippines and in the EASL Champions Week.
- In October 2023, Andrew rejoined the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus.
