Andrew's Professional Career

Andrew Nowacki was picked by the Edmonton Eskimos in the 2004 CFL Draft. He was the 26th player chosen overall in the third round.

Starting in the CFL (2004-2006)

As a rookie in 2004, Andrew didn't play much. He only caught one pass for seven yards. In 2005, his spot on the team was uncertain. However, he was activated on July 14 after another player got injured. Andrew played in a few games but then hurt his finger, missing more time. He returned to play on September 29. That year, he caught 18 passes for 151 yards. The Eskimos won the Grey Cup in 2005, making Andrew a champion! In 2006, Andrew continued to play for Edmonton. He made 17 catches for 147 yards.

Taking on a Bigger Role (2007-2008)

The Eskimos re-signed Andrew on January 11, 2007. In a preseason game, he caught four passes for 46 yards. Early in the 2007 season, some of the Eskimos' other receivers got hurt. This meant Andrew had to step up and play a bigger part in the team's offense.

On August 13, 2007, Andrew caught his first ever professional touchdown pass in a game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. It was a special moment! In the same game, another player from his old college, Jason French, also caught a touchdown. These two touchdowns happened only one minute apart. Later that year, Andrew caught another five-yard touchdown pass. This was in a game where quarterback Ricky Ray broke a team record for passing yards. In 2007, Andrew had a great season with 47 catches for 465 yards and two touchdowns.

In 2008, Andrew Nowacki played in every game for the Eskimos. He caught 28 passes for 369 yards and scored two more touchdowns. He also started in a playoff game, catching three passes for 27 yards. He played for the Eskimos until 2011.
